Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) has achieved a significant result in the 2026
Erasmus+ project period, further advancing its internationalisation and global mobility agenda.
The University’s success includes a first-place ranking among foundation universities in Türkiye
in the KA171 project in terms of grant budget, alongside a strong nationwide ranking among
universities with approved projects.
More Than EUR 405,000 in Erasmus+ Grants
As part of the 2026 Erasmus+ project period, FSMVU secured EUR 309,960 under the KA131
Higher Education Student and Staff Mobility Project and EUR 95,123 under the KA171 Higher
Education Student and Staff Mobility Project. With a combined grant of EUR 405,083, these
results demonstrate FSMVU’s strong performance in international mobility and its continued
commitment to expanding international opportunities for students and staff.
First Among Foundation Universities in KA171
FSMVU ranked 15th nationwide among 156 universities with approved KA171 projects and first
among foundation universities in Türkiye in terms of grant budget. This achievement reflects the
University’s expanding network of international partnerships and its continued efforts to develop
meaningful mobility opportunities with higher education institutions across different regions of
the world.
Mobility Opportunities with 15 Countries
The EUR 95,123 KA171 grant will support mobility opportunities for FSMVU students and
academic and administrative staff with 15 countries. The project includes partner countries such
as Canada, The Gambia, Australia, Argentina, and South Africa, providing FSMVU students and
staff with opportunities to gain international academic and professional experience, engage with
different higher education environments, and strengthen their global networks. This diverse
mobility network also contributes to FSMVU’s broader internationalisation strategy by
supporting the diversification of its global academic partnerships.
Expanding International Opportunities for Students and Staff
Through Erasmus+, the grants will support students and academic and administrative staff in
undertaking international mobility for study, teaching, traineeship, and professional development
purposes. These opportunities aim to enhance academic and professional competencies, foster
intercultural learning, and provide members of the FSMVU community with valuable
international experience. Through its continued success in Erasmus+, FSMVU remains
